Dear all
I would like to upgrade the blog of a customer from v3 -> v5. but right after uploading the launcher component the admin part is working fine and the installation of the component goes soomthly. But when checking the (public) web page i get a blank page.
I tought it could be a rsfirewall (rsjoomla.com) issue, but after uninstalling the component i tried again to upgrade the component (one time via uploading it and ontime placing it in the /tmp folder) and i still get an blank page. in the public part.
This is quite strange tough as I upgraded several blog for some client´s from V3 -> V5 and it went ok.

Can you have a look as why I get a blank screen right after uploading the component?
Hoping to hear from you.
Regards,
Paco
Hey Paco,

The reason why you hitting that blank page is because we already remove that "Category - simple layout" menu type in Easyblog5, I have temporary change your current blog menu item to use "single category layout" menu type, It should work fine now. Can you give it a check now?

Dear Arlex.
Yes it seems to work now. Thank for your quick help and solution.
Now as i have been told before, it seems that you are working on the option than when ant joomla level the registratration of new users is turned off the easyblog will respect this, but this is not implemented yet. Correct?
So now my question is, where in which file and which line can I turn of the registration of new users in Easyblog 5?
Hoping to hear from you again.
regards,
Paco

Hey Paco,

This is actually already implemented in EasyBlog's ACL You can just go to the ACL section of EasyBlog, click on "Registered" group and disallow this group from publishing posts

You can learn more from the blog post here, http://stackideas.com/blog/update-your-easyblog-acl

By the way, to turn off user's registration, you can do so via Joomla's Users extension. Go to Users > Options

Hello and good morning
The registration option is already turned off, but never the less the register option still shows in the login option on the front end.
WHat I really would like is to understand where and which file from which i need to delete the line so when on the front end some clicks on login that the "register" option disapears all together.

hoping to hear from you.
regards,
Paco

Ps. furthermore I would like to translate (into spanish) allso the link "View All Posts >". where can I find this as i see that the spanish translation in not 100% translated :-(

Hey Paco,

You can remove this in the file /components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/toolbar/default.php . You need to remove this code,

<a href="<?php echo EB::getRegistrationLink();?>" class="float-r"><?php echo JText::_( 'COM_EASYBLOG_REGISTER' );?></a>

In the next version this will be respected when you turn this off As for the translations "View All Posts", where are you seeing this? I did a search in the language string and this is what I found,

COM_EASYBLOG_VIEW_ALL_POSTS="View All Posts"
COM_EASYBLOG_CATEGORIES_VIEW_ALL_POSTS="View All Posts"

Hey Paco,

The file is located in /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini If you are using Spanish it should be /language/es-ES/es-ES.com_easyblog.ini
