We are having issues with EasyBlog the last 2 days. So far there are 2 problems:

1. When going to Maintenance > Scripts all we get is a blank page, viewing the source of this blank page shows nothing...as in it really is a blank page. This one is not urgent but I went to this page because I thought I may be able to fix the following issue with a script.

2. When creating a new blog post, after clicking on publish the post will be published to the site and then the poster will be presented with the same blank page described above. The post is published and viewable on the site, however none of the email scripts get executed and as such we have to manually click on the email icon in the posts list in the backend for the emails to be sent.

We are not exactly sure when this problem started, however we have only noticed it in the last 2 days. I have been doing several changes to our website over the last 2-3 days so there is a chance something I have installed/uninstalled has caused an issue but I can't find any errors with relation to this problem, even in our server error logs.
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It would be best if you can setup FTP user account for us so we can able to troubleshoot this issue through the Easyblog core php file.

And i also noticed you provided that Joomla backend user account do not have superadmin privileges so I was unable to view on your Easyblog setting page and Joomla global configuration page.

Thanks for cooperation, so I can able to found out what is your current issue.

Regarding with your first issue, actually that was known issue in previous version which generated this maintenance file 5.1.15 in /administrator/components/com_easyblog/updates/.. which causing this issue, I already help you removed this folder 5.1.15 from your FTP server, it should render correct the page now.

Regarding with your second issue, it seems like you have removed Joomla smart search component but you didn't disabled Easyblog smart search plugin from backend which caused this issue, I already help you disabled it, it should save the post correctly now.

Can you give it a check?

Hi Arlex, thanks for your very prompt response and solutions. I can confirm that the maintenance script issue is resolved and I shall let you know if the Posts issue is resolved the next time we do a post.

I figured it must have been something I had done somewhere but never made the connection between the Joomla Smart Search and EasyBlog Smart Search, I thought they were separate. Lesson learnt
