Blank "Images" in Gallery

The gallery block seems to retain the blank images, and we cannot find a way to delete them. In the front end, a number of black images holder appears, before the images that were meant to display.

See attachment. It shows 10 slides/images be we only added 4.

By the way, may I know is it this issue still persists if you add a new gallery block and upload the image again?
