Hi everyone

Many of my users have some challenges going on my network using a blackberry. The site is not loading at all of they have a extension error. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Thanks

James
hello James,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Currently we do not have any Blackberry device yet, but we will find and test it.

By the way, can you provide us some screenshot about the site not loading at all and what you mentioned about the extension error?

And also provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access.

Hi Arlex

I think we are not on the same page. .What I'm trying to say is that, when I use my android cellphone, I can log into my social network and send messages and use my social network as normal, but If someone else has a blackberry cellphone, they can't use my social network form there blackberry device, but they can use Facebook form there blackberry device. The error code that I mentioned is on the blackberry device.

And about the FTP settings, I really appreciate that you want to login and fix my problems, but I really would like to be hands on and fix it myself, that is the best way to learn, obviously I will ask for help and I will do what is suggested and where I might find the problem. If I really struggle, then I will give FTP access.

I'm sure you understand.

Thanks

James

Hi Arlex

My pleasure.

I understand why your blackberry simulator is working, your model type is working fine. Can you try the Blackberry curve 9300 and see if you find a problem?

Thanks
James

Hello James,

Unfortunately we would not be supporting older devices because these browsers are proprietary browsers and similar like IE, they render pages very differently and we can't be accommodating ancient browsers (unfortunately)

Hello James,

I believe most mobile devices these days that are up to date would work fine You could test it with most android / recent blackberry devices / iphone devices.

I have owned a blackberry before and I know how bad their browser's are and the worst of it all, it's proprietary and this also means that it will only support specific html tags which they want to and doesn't follow any standards at all

Hello Mark

I think it will be more benefit for blackberry if they changed there browser. They will sell much more devices.

Thanks

Yep, but I guess if Samsung were to buyout Blackberry (I recall reading this on CNN somewhere), things will change but again, the chances of them updating the operating system for ancient devices would be close to nil
