Just realised that the YEAR PRIVACY feature on the custom profile field BIRTHDAY, is failing to show up on the REGISTRATION page (and yes, I do have the field set to display on registration). Please see if you can replicate that issue on your own sites.

It shows fine when someone EDITS their profile... but doesn't appear on registration.

As some people are very nervous about sharing their birth year, I think this is really important to show, if set as required, at the point of user registration.
Hey Andy,

Thanks for the heads up on this, we'll see what we can do about this in the future

Hey Andy,

By default the privacy for custom fields wouldn't show up during registration. Privacy settings will be visible only when they edit their profile. It will inherit the default privacy settings that is defined in the settings

OK understood. I just thought this one might behave differently given that, unless I've missed it, you can't set a default for whether or not the birth year shows?

Hi Sam... Yes that's my point... that's why I would have thought that it would be an option offered to the user upon registering. Currently if a site needs to mandate asking for a date of birth on registration, it can make it easier on people if they are instantly able to show they want privacy on the birth year (see my original post here)...

I've got a work around by just using text to TELL people they can go and edit their privacy after registering... but it makes another step for them... so it was just to make EasySocial real Easy for the user it would have been nice if they could do it directly on registration (OR like the other settings allow admin to set the appropriate default privacy level for it at the back-end as happens with all the other fields there.)

Hi Andy,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

The reason why it is not possible is because during the registration process, the user is not log in yet and it is not possible to set a privacy value if user id is not exist yet. However thanks for your kind concern and suggestion and we will see if we can improve this feature in the next future release of easysocial.

OK no problem I can work around it anyhow with just a note to assure them that with a few more clicks they can make it private. I am just surprised that SuperAdmin can't set a default Private or Not for this like they can for everything else on the profile.
