Hi Stack team, I'm hoping you can provide some best practices for integrating with JFBC. There are "How Tos" on other integrations, but nothing on this.

Specifically, I'm wondering:
- On the Settings > Facebook tab, I have enabled the option integrate with JFBC. BUT, what about the other fields on this view? Some seem to overlap with JFBC, like the "username" field. Do I need to include the App ID and Secret? Please advise.

- Should the "Add opengraph tags on the page" in ES be set to Yes or No? What if I have NOT specified any ini JFBC?

- JFBC has option to "Import Avatar" and "Import Cover". Should these be enabled in JFBC, but disabled in ES? Vice versa?

- Also related, JFBC has settings for "New User Redirection" and "Returning User Redirection"... do these trump the settings in EasySocial? How do they relate?
Hey Amy,

Kindly please find the response to your inquiries below:

The integrations with JFBConnect in EasySocial will display the login buttons generated by JFBConnect within EasySocial. Other than that, most of the other settings would rely on JFBC itself.

- Should the "Add opengraph tags on the page" in ES be set to Yes or No? What if I have NOT specified any ini JFBC?

If JFBC is not rendering the opengraph tags, then you should turn this on

- JFBC has option to "Import Avatar" and "Import Cover". Should these be enabled in JFBC, but disabled in ES? Vice versa?

If you are using JFBC buttons, those settings under the EasySocial Facebook settings would be ignored as the importing processes relies on JFBC itself.

- Also related, JFBC has settings for "New User Redirection" and "Returning User Redirection"... do these trump the settings in EasySocial? How do they relate?

Yep, as long as you login via JFBC buttons, they will supersede EasySocial's settings

Hope this helps!

Thanks very much! BTW, I think (happily) that the last answer is incorrect. I was glad to see that at least for the normal registration process, wherein the user chooses a profile and goes through the steps, the "Redirection after registration(Only for Auto Login)" associated with the profile type won. However, for logging in, yes, JFBC seems to win that workflow.

Last and related question: if JFBC is doing most of the heavy lifting, is there any benefit -- performance or otherwise -- to REMOVING the App ID and App Secret from the ES > Settings > Facebook area?

Hey Amy,

Nope, it doesn't really do anything actually. The App ID and Secret in EasySocial is for EasySocial to generate the buttons but since it is not used, it really doesn't have any peformance impact.
