Best image size for Cover

What is the best image size for my members to use when uploading a cover image in their profile, group, event or page so that it looks ok on all display sizes?

The image size would fit without any adjustments.

I am currently advising members to use 1500 : 500 but is this too large?

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. It really depends on your Joomla template. If it is using a fluid layout, then of course a bigger image is better.

This is one of the roadblocks that we faced too because it's difficult to cater cover sizes as the size is really dependent on the Joomla template.
