Hello

If I change the media folder settings > Media > General tab > Article Images for example from images/easyblog_articles to images/easyblog_articles/2018 the existing posts have damage media, for example cover post or you cannot see the media files in the composer > media if you edit the post

Will be more right to be possible move the media folder and change it in some time without braking the old post.
For example you made 4 post each day after one year you will have 1000 sub-folders one for each post is and it's not too easy to manage.

I hope understant what I mean.

THanks in advance.

P.S.
This is more than feature request
Hey Thodoris,

Hm, it is tricky if you change the folder midway because it's going to take time for scripts to run through the existing posts. What you should do is to retain the old folder and allow new posts to use this new folder. Older posts would still work as those images are still in the previous folder.

Hello Mark,

I don't mean to move the old folders,
If you keep the old folder, images works (if I look the source code the image path point to old locations) but the cover photo and the media files in composer doesn't work.

I guess because the script try to find the image in new location and no in the location had the images when post created.

Regards.

Hello Mark
as I told you at the start this is not a bug , more than feature request.

If you change location of media folder not to effect the old posts
.

First of all if for some reason you need to change the folder location some part of the old posts cover and media in the composer (maybe they are more but till now that I discover) doesn't work, if move the old folders in the new location media and covers will work but the image inside the post doesn't.
If you want everything works you must keep the files in old location and copy them also to the new location except you make manual change in database and change the post image to the new location.
So I think this is not absolutely right because actually you can't change the location if you want.

The reason I want to change the location is because all folders for the post are about 500mb I want the new post be on different folder and to exclude the old post from backup, plus it's more easily to handle a folder with 100 sub folders than folder with 1000 sub folders.

Thanks

P.S
Maybe this behavior is the same for other media, but I use only images till now.

The site have about 150 post now,

Thanks for the input on this Thodoris, will move this into the feature requests area and see if there's anything we could do in the near future.
