I want to be able to have subscribers sign up and be put into a particular joomla group.
Then once in that group...only articles created for that group visible to them....just like a regular Joomla ACL.
Also, when it's combined with Mail Chimp and there's a link to an article or an image in MailChimp...and in Joomla that article is only for a particular group....will those not in the group see it if they click from within MailChimp?

I'll have more questions...but this is the first important one I have.

Thanks
Pam
Hello Pam,

Your requirement above is not possible but we can implement it in a different way by using category based. In Easyblog category, admin can set which usergroup will be able to view the post in that particular category. So, in your case, you will have multiple categories which will be assigned to a different usergroup. The subscribers here means a registered user right? In Joomla User manager, you can set which usergroup for the newly registered user in your site. As for the mailchimp, can you elaborate what you are trying to achieve?

Hey Nick....thanks...here's what I'm trying to attempt.

I have managers who head up a sales team and I currently do newsletters for each sales team (using Publisher) with their monthly sales and reports. The newsletter for each team is exactly the same except for the reports, the team name on the front of the newsletter and the name of the manager.

Each month I create the newsletter with Publisher and send it to the manager converted into a .pdf. What I'd like to do is have the newsletter created it in a blog type website. Each team will see the same content that they would have seen in the paper newsletter...BUT...I would like to have the team members all register for a user name so when they login, they also see JUST THEIR team reports, their team name, etc.

I would also like to be able to have the managers post a blog article and once saved it only be seen by their team when the team logs in.

And then I would like to create a MailChimp mailing periodically through the month with common content...but with some links that when clicked... team A will see something different than team B.

Basically, I want to eliminate having to make separate newsletters but keep the ability to have specific reports that only a manager and the team will see.

Is that possible with Easyblog and the connection to Mailchimp?

Thanks
Pam

Hello Pam,

I am really sorry but unfortunately this cannot be achieved out of the box with the integrations between EasyBlog and Mailchimp.

OK. Disregard the Mailchimp connection.

If I were to send an email to those participants...not in Mailchimp...and had a link in there to a blog article...when user 1 clicks the link and they're not authorized to view it...will they still be able to see it?

Hello Pam,

If the category of the post is setup accordingly as Nik mentioned earlier, the user would not be able to see posts in the category.
