I would like to ask where to find the German translation for the Badges in ES? Aren't they translated yet?

Thanks for your support!
hey horst,
thanks for the access and I was able to identify the issue.
turns out if there's some text entered into the field then this is pulled by the system: http://screencast.com/t/8cxbHgxNIt

I replaced the text with the language string COM_EASYSOCIAL_BADGES_NEWBIE_DESC and now the newbie badge text is showing correctly: http://screencast.com/t/KptKHDVC

I will talk about this with our devs so that we can come up with a global solution instead of asking everyone to paste all the language strings manually, but for now you know at least where this is coming from and in case you need a quick workaround for some badges you can, as explained, just replace the hardcoded text with the corresponding language strings.

hope that helps and have a nice day

hey horst,
generally speaking the german language files aren't missing anything as they're 100% translated. having that said there are some known issues in the latest 1.2.14 version with languages as we made some structural changes to increase performance.

perhaps you can describe where you have probs with the badges (frontend / backend / stream etc.) and provide us with your site details and ftp access so we can go and check this directly at your end. have a nice day

Hi Alex,

I currently wondered about the welcome message for a Newbie "Congrats on registering on the site!" ....and was looking for the translation. It's not yet included in the german language file, but in the English one....maybe it has only to be added, or?

hey horst,
hmm, that's strange. I just searched for this text (as I'm not using badges at my site) and the result was that it's coming from this string: COM_EASYSOCIAL_BADGES_NEWBIE_DESC

going from here this string is also available in the german file, around line 3048:
/administrator/language/de-DE/de-DE.com_easysocial.ini:
3048: COM_EASYSOCIAL_BADGES_NEWBIE_DESC="Glückwunsch zur Registrierung auf der Seite"

to take it one more level I also double checked transifex and there it is as well as you can see in my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/v1qS47LRpMt

can you try to load the language files again from your easysocial backend and then check if the string is still missing in your file? if so, as said, please provide us with your details so that we can check on it.

Thanks Alex, the problem here is most likely because the user edited the badge and saved the badge again
