Bad choise to select parent while creating a new category

The select patent field is to smal and does not work with a lange number of categories. We have up to 1000 categories and it is not possible to find the right parent in a combo box control. Please implement a tree control to select a parent category.

Currently, we designed it where '--' will be child categories for '-' parent categories. By the way, we will see how other reacted on this first. Thanks for your understanding
