Avatar not displaying

Hi,

I updated easysocial over the weekend and ever since, when people change their profile photo the greyed out avatar displays. You can see from the attached image that the file has uploaded fine as the photo is displayed "(Marlou Hermsen has updated her profile picture"). But it does not replace the greyed out avatar.

Any help would be most appreciated. You have the login to my site..

Hello Mel.

Can you provide us with joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue directly?

Can you change these two directory to writable? http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-16_1634.png

and try re-upload the avatar. If the error still persist do let us know about this.

Thank you, that now works but the avatar does not.

P.S do you have a list of files that need to be writable for easysocial to work?

Hello Mel.

The previous avatar does not show up because ES don't have a permission to save the avatar in that file. So your user need to re-upload their avatar. I am really sorry for the inconvenience.

Regarding the p.s question, by default. all the files need to be writable.

Can you tell me which files exactly that ES need to be writable? Obviously if the whole site is "writable" then it would be easily hacked??

Hello Melanie,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

By right all the file need to writable so that all the Joomla components including easysocial can be functioned properly without any issue. By the way I've checked your directory information and I believe the current set up is good for easysocial to run properly.
