When setting up autoposting in Easyblog and easydiscuss, the following error message appears when connecting to Facebook:

Invalid Scopes: manage_pages, publish_pages, user_managed_groups. This message is only shown to developers. Users of your app wants to ignore these permissions if present. Please read the documentation for valid permissions at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/permissions
Hi Bodo,

Facebook recent changes to their API and its restrictions has caused many sites to have issues with autoposting, especially those with newly created app(API v3.0).

One of Facebook's requirement is that in your Facebook app, you have to submit these 4 permissions for review(groups and pages): http://take.ms/xk4lj

I have also included a fix in the following file that will also allow autopost to work properly(provided the permissions are approved at FB app).
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/oauth/adapters/facebook/client.php

You can try sign in to FB autopost again.

Do note that if your Facebook app is using API v3.0, autopost will no longer work for pages and groups until those 4 permissions are approved by Facebook.

I am agreed with you Danny, since Facebook updated their API regarding this, it will affected for all other extension as well who use these autopost feature.

We will try to improve our documentation regarding this case so at least this documentation can help other user who do not know how to submit these user permission from their Facebook app.

Can someone confirm if it is even possible to get facebook to approve these permissions now? It seems that it is now against facebook guidelines to auto post content from your site? Seriously FB ... WTF?

Hey Eden,

Unfortunately, we are still not able to confirm whether Facebook has approve any of these permissions.

The best we can do now is continue submitting reviews for approval, and if Facebook approves, then share with others the process that is used so that other users can use it as a reference.

Hey Andrew,

There are users who reported successful review process but I cannot recall who. If you are having issues with the review process, can you start a new thread so we can check your submission?
