Hello team,
I want to restrict the users of the forum to a certain user group (it's a non-public forum). So that automatic messages about new posts just reach the aimed user group and NOT all joomla users of the whole website. So far when I delete users from easyDiscuss, they also get deleted from the whole joomla site. I cannot believe i'm the first one who comes up with this kind of issue, but i haven't found a similar request regarding this matter. Please help!
Thx
Santiago
Hello there,

Sorry for the delay of this reply.
automatic messages

I am a bit lost here. What did you meant by automatic message? Please advice

So far when I delete users from easyDiscuss, they also get deleted from the whole joomla site.

This is because the synchronization of EasyDiscuss and Joomla Site. If we delete a user from EasyDiscuss, it will automatically delete Joomla user. See attached for clarification. http://screencast.com/t/gxgAkUVNH2A

What I need is a notification sent to ONLY the forum members when a new post is created. In the backend Settings >> email configuration it is possible to set the configuration to 'notify ALL users'. But not all users of the website have access to the forum (it is an internal forum). For now, when a new post is created all joomla users get the notification which causes a lot of confusion. This doesn't work for my client. I think there should be a possibility to restrict the notification to a certain user group or personally defined users. Is there any possibility of implementing that?

Unfortunately that was not possible to achieve this at this point of time, as long as you enable notify to all the user, which mean that system will notify to all of your Joomla user.

I would suggest you turn off this `notify to all user` setting from your notification setting, when the user subscribe on your forum through their subscription page or forum header (you can refer on my attached screenshot below), they will get notified when the new discussion post is published.
