Hi, I want to know how auto renewal of plans works. I mean, I have three recuirring plans with frequency of 12. I need that each plan get renew automatically, always, even after 12 period, so I want that user never have to click to renew, just click to cancel subscription. How can I do that forever?

Thanks.
Hello Felipe,

In case of recurring plan after 12 frequency subscription will get expired and user need to renew his subscription to contniue further.
If you want that recurring for always then you need to set frequency to 0 , it means subscription will charge till subscription cancellation.

Let me know if you have any query.

Hello Felipe,

If you changed the recurring plan price, for existing subscriber price will remain same , new price will not charged.
New price changes will be applicable for new subscriber only.

Update me if you have any query.

Hi Manisha, thanks for you answer. That is a big problem to us because we need to change that recurring price for active suscribers, is there anyway to do it? maybe there is any plugin?

Help me pleaseee. We do want that user have to cancel suscription and suscribe again, client is not going to do it, so we need to change from admin that price of plan and should change on all suscribers active or not. Any ideas?

Thank you

Hello Felipe,

As of now payplans do not have any plugin which will change the recurring price of existing active subscribers.
To do this change, it will require significant changes and might be affect other functionality also.

Let me know which payment gateway you are using to collect payment, so i'll look into this possibility.
Update me.

Hi Manisha, thanks for your answer. We are using this payment gateway plugin: https://www.mgscreativa.com/en/online-store/more-products/payplans/mercadopago-payment-plugin-for-payplans-

As you can see, payment gateway is MERCADOPAGO, you can see here API: https://www.mercadopago.com.ar/developers/es/api-docs/custom-checkout/plans/subscriptions/

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello Felipe,

I checked the possibility of this and currently it's not possible to charge the new updated price from subscribers.
Because it will require significant changes in core as well as. Currently it's not possible to do that.
he only way is to cancel the existing subscription and renew again.

Let me know if you have any query.

Hi Manisha, ok I understand.

Admin from back-end can cancel existing subscription and renew it without client login and do it himself?, It would be great because we do not want that user have to do extra work of login, cancel, renew etc...

Thanks

Hello Felipe,

Admin can cancel subscription from backend but you can't pay on behalf of user.
Because payment should be done by user with his details (user will not share his payment card details with you), so further payments will work fine. It's not possible to renew by admin with user's payment/card details.

For now user need to cancel the subscription and renew again by themselves.
Update me if you have any query.

Hi Manisha, how are you?

I need to ask you again about changing price topic. In this case we want to know if we change the price of a dynamic recurring plan, this new price is going to change to active suscribers in the next invoice? I mean, for example a client bought a recurring forever plan for $150, each 6 months the client pay that amount via automatic debit from credit card, if we change the price to $180 in the next debit will the client need to pay $180, right?

Thank you.

Hey Felipe,

IF you change the recurring plan price then this price will be applicable for only new subscriptions, existing subscription will not get affected by this new price.
So ongoing subscriptions will be charged with old price.

Update me if you have any query.
