When a group owner makes a change to a group, the group is no longer accessible until the admin approves it. This is causing group owners to think they lost their group, and in some cases they recreate the group before the admin can approve the changes. In this organization, it is important that an existing group does not disappear after the group has been changed.

Are there settings that allow us to not require approval of group changes - or some way to allow a group to be accessible immediately after a change?

There is a way for this. You can disable 'Moderate Group Creation' which is at Backend > EasySocial > Users > Profile Types > the profile type that you want > ACL > Groups.
