Hi,

I wanted to add a audio block wherein the audio (mp3) files is stored on a third party site.

Can we include this audio in a blog post through the link where third party audio file is located?

regards
Hi Sunny,

The audio block is only for files that you can browse. So you would have to download the file from the other site first and then select it from the block.

If not, you have to use other blocks like embeddables/link, depending on the site, if you want to link it directly there.

Hi Raymond,

Thanks for your direction, one more question, can the embeddables/link play the audio file directly or it would just be a href link to the source website?

Also can you please point out which embedable to use?

Basically i'm looking for soundcloud type block, but for mp3 not hosted on soundcloud.

regards
Sunny

Hey Sunny,

Normally the embeddables can be played directly while the link block opens the link.
Also can you please point out which embedable to use?

The soundcloud type block cannot be used if the mp3 is not hosted there.

In other words, if the mp3 is not hosted from one of those embeddable block's site, then those blocks cannot be used.

Thanks Raymond for your clarification.

Is there anyway i can restrict block usage to a profile type by UCM?

I want the administrator only to have rights to upload audio files.
