it seems that was a bug, try download my attached file and replace into JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easydiscuss\includes\image\image.php and see how it goes?

But you have to test new upload gif image, because your existing gif attachment image file, when you upload that time, system didn't generate a thumbnail for these gif image format in your site.
