Attaching images from an Andoid phone

Hi,

I have a Sony Xperia Z3 phone with Android OS, when I logged in as user in the easysocial profile community and try to attach a photo to share I get the attached screenshot1, if I choose the first (Android System) option it gives me screenshot2 and if I choose the second (Android System) option I get screenshot3, and if I choose the Documents option it takes me through the system file.

Is there a way to make it easy for the android users, so when they try to attach a photo it comes up with the images or Album option directly? Or is that an issue with my phone?

This is, unfortunately, a limitation of what's currently installed on the device. There's only two ways around it: install an app that adds to the list of file managers (I forget which ones can do this), or look into the ES app.

However~ there may be some device-specific URLs that can be triggered, but I need to look those up. I'm only familiar with the ones that auto-launch the dialer or Play Store.

Thank you David for your suggestions, I have es explorer installed on my phone and there is a way for me to attach images, but I am thinking of users on my website who don't know how to do that, if inexperienced user have the same issue they won't be contacting me with the issue because people can't be bothered, I wonder if there is any thing I can do with the easysocial component?

Hey Haggag,

I think the restrictions / options are actually being set by the phone manufacturer. If you do this with apple's iphone, it automatically loads up the albums with the list of photos that you can choose from

Thank you Mark for your reply, I might need to update my Android OS too.

I have another question please:

Is there an easy way to include the Dating/User search Module on the left side panel on the main stream under (Me and My Friends) menu? I'm using the Frosty theme and I'm happy with it but if I position this module on the right or left side bars it squashes the stream and it doesn't look as nice.

I am terribly sorry for the delay of this reply, I got overwhelmed by emails, tickets, forums, and development work You can actually just position the dating search module on the dashboard's page Duplicate the module, and assign it under es-dashboard-sidebar-top
