Dear Stackideas-Team,

it is possible to connect articles with the "Associations-Tag", for example two articles in two different languages.
Is it possible to do the same with Categories?

Kindest regards
Thomas
Yes, that is possible to achieve this, you can choose which language you would like to setup in your category.

Hey Arlex,

that was not what I meant.
I mean, when I open a category and see alle the entries inside that category and then change the language on the front-end then I like to see the same category in another language. But I just come back to "Home"...the starting-page.
I added two categories in English and in German and I like to connect these two categories...like inside of a single entry where you can use the "Associations-Tag" to connect two articles...

I am sorry for the misunderstand in earlier,

Can you check my following explanation is it what you want to achieve?

1. You allow user to switch language on the site
2. Cat A[English] - show English post only
3. Cat A[German] - show German post only
4. When the user open this Cat A[English] category page, at the same time he switch to German language, when it redirect back the page, you would like it show Cat A[German] page?

You can follow my instruction to achieve this :

1. I assume you already created following categories on your site.
- Cat A[English]
- Cat A[German]

2. Then you have to create 2 menu item for this 2 category :
- Create single category menu item for this Cat A[English]
- Create single category menu item for this Cat A[German]

3. Then edit that single category menu item > click on association tab > select your another single category menu item

Hope this help.

Hey Arlex,

thank you.
Yes I already uses this possibility.
But I need the other possibility as well.
Maybe sometime an update makes it possible to change association directly inside the categories while creating them.

Thanks for your help.

Thomas

Yes, currently that was not possible to achieve this at the categories section.

Perhaps you can request this feature on our forum page here so we will see if there a lot of user request this as well, we will definitely consider implement this in the future version.
