Platform: ES 1.2.12 on J3.3

My Joomla User Groups:
Registered >> Community >> Group01
Registered >> Community >> Group02

My ES Category >> Groups
Community >> Group01
Community >> Group02
The groups are open.

ES >> Users
I select a registered user. I click Assigned User Groups. I select Group01. I save the updated user .

ES >> Groups
The user that I selected for inclusion in Group01 does not appear as a user in that group.

I also want to automate the process. During initial registration, a new subscriber can either select the profile for Group01 or the profile for Group02. After registration approval by an administrator, the subscriber should be automatically added as a member of that group.

Please advise. Thanks.
Hi William,

Thanks for your understanding and your suggestion I will pass your feedback to the dev team
Thanks again and have a nice day!

Hello William,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I not sure if i understand correctly or not but look like you've mis-understand how ES group work. The profile that you select when creating the Group's category is to tell the system which profile users are able to create new group. That did not automatically add the users from the profile as a group member. Please correct me if I've mis-understand your original question.

After registration approval by an administrator, the subscriber should be automatically added as a member of that group.

I am sorry but this is not possible at the moment. User will still need to 'join' the group

Hope this help and have a nice day:)

Hello --

You misunderstand my initial problem. As Administrator, I am unable to assign users to a Group as described above. As written above ...

ES >> Users
I select a registered user. I click Assigned User Groups. I select Group01. I save the updated user .

ES >> Groups
The user that I selected for inclusion in Group01 does not appear as a user in that group.

The automated feature is a different issue. Hopefully this will be added to your roadmap. Community Builder has this feature.

Hi William,

ES >> Groups
The user that I selected for inclusion in Group01 does not appear as a user in that group.

I am sorry maybe my explanation is confusing. Regarding the above, currently ES group don't work this way. Beside, in ES Groups, there is no option to assign 'Joomla User Group' into a group. To add a user into ES group, go to ES backend under Groups -> [select your group] -> Members and click on the button 'Add member'. Please see http://screencast.com/t/50NwXfz7

Please advise.

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hello --

I discovered that solution.

I was not trying to assign a Joomla User Group to an ES Group. I provided that information to you only to give you a better understanding of my installation.

However, I do not understand the purpose of the "Assigned User Groups" located under the ES Users tab. It does not appear to do anything. Can you explain to me it's function?

Thanks.

The default Joomla user groups will only be applied to new user registration Meaning to say, if you moved a user from one profile to another profile, the Joomla user group will not be changed. This 'default joomla user group' will only be used when someone register at your site

Hope this help and have a nice day

OK. I understand.

In a future version of ES, please consider enabling the administrator to manage group assignment with the "Assigned User Groups" tab. I do realize that members can be managed by means of the 'Groups' tab. A centralized dashboard for this functionality would be very useful.

Thanks.
