Try to search the forums but can't find any answers.

Is it possible upon registration that users when selecting a custom field would automatically become a member in a ES group.

For example I have a list of schools. The users upon registration selects from that custom list and bsaed on their selection becomes a member of that group that is already created.

Specifically on registration they select from custom field University "Harvard University" and then upon complete registration become a member of "Harvard University" that was already created in ES groups.

Thanks!
Hello Gene,

Currently we do not have autojoin group features based on the custom field value. We do however have groups auto join features based on the profile types set from the backend. Refer my screenshot here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-07-08_1145.png .

Hope these help.

unfortunately that graphic link didn't work but also my profile types are for example student artists that belong to many different universities so your idea won't work for me as I would then have to create thousands of profile types.

Thanks for you quick responses!

Hello Gene,

Unfortunately it is not possible out of the box currently to auto join the group based on the custom field.
