I have a little bit lost here, do you mean article is Joomla article?

If yes, the site user can able to create article from their user profile page, you can check my screenshot here : http://take.ms/7Erjg

Ensure that you have set your article app to default app from your site backend > Easysocial > application > search for 'article'.

And if you do not want to show those article stream item on user dashboard page, you can turn off those setting from the app, you can refer at my attached screenshot below.
