I have been trying to get use to how Easyblog works, but it seems to get more and more confusing. There are two things that don't seem to act right.

1. I can't figure out which source the article pulls from.

I know you can write articles in Joomla's own post section and also in EasyBlog's post section. Since I installed Easyblog after the site was up, I ported my articles over. (I still have to use Joomla's own system as my front page, featured articles pull from it) That being said, here is where it is weird. When I click on an article for example, "Bringing Magic to Music City", the article shown on the main easyblog page shows the one in Easyblog's section, but once you click on it, it shows the one pulling from Joomla's own section. I found this out by adding at the end of the article two !! after show in the Easyblog and only one ! after show in the Joomla one.

Easyblog ends with "show!!"
Joomla ends with "show!"

Both seem to show up at different spots. How can I consolidate and only use one article source or the other? Why is it pulling from different sources?

2. Related Posts Module is empty

I have tried everything and I can't get anything to show up in the related posts module. I make sure that the tags match in both Joomla and Easyblog, but still nothing. (It even shows the #magic tag so I know they both have it.)

How can I get this working?
Hello Joey,

Easyblog and Joomla Article is two different component. With that being said, if you edit the post from Easyblog, it will not update the Joomla Article. When you mentioned 'ported', I believe you have migrated the Joomla article over. The migration means you copy all the Joomla Article and add them in Easyblog. They will have no relation after migrated.

As for the related post, this section will get the Easyblog posts that has the same tag as the Easyblog post you are viewing. You can try to have the same tag within Easyblog posts and see how it goes. This related post will not include the Joomla Article.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the response.

1. I understand that Easyblog and Joomla Article are two different components, however, for some reason, Easyblog seems to want to keep pulling from Joomla Article. For instance, when the article titled "Bringing Magic to Music City" in the feed I can tell its from the Easyblog component, but when I click on the article to read the full article, it takes me to the article from the Joomla component. For example, when I unpublish the article from the Joomla component, when I click on the article title in easyblog it gives me a 404 error. Shouldn't easyblog just pull from easyblog? What's happening here?

2. As far as the related posts in Easyblog, I have several posts with the tag "magic", but none show up in the sidebar even when viewing one of them.

Thanks so much for your help.

Hello Joey,

I see. The issue is because you have the duplicate URL for both components as you can see here: http://screencast.com/t/7efNsIZMO1n . I've deleted the duplicate URL in SH404SEF and let it re-generate it and now it is working fine. Please verify this.
