Good day,
We use EasyBlog for an internal area for our employees (administred via joomla com_user). As we have two company departments we want these user separated in user groups (Group A for west, group B for east). Some categories should now only be visible for A or B. But now we have an article that should be visible in both categories for A and B and it will not be shown. Is there a workaround or do we need a third access group and asign this group (e.g. A+B) to the article?

Kind regards,
Michael
Hey Michael,

Actually it is the current behaviour in Easyblog, if the current logged in user doesn't have the permission to access one of the category from the post, the system do not allow this user to view this entry post.

For example :
Cat1 - Limmat Bus
View Permission - Intranet Autor and Mitarbeiter Aargau Verkehr user group

Cat2 - Vergünstigungen
View Permission - Intranet Autor and Mitarbeiter Limmat Bus user group

If the current logged in user under either one of these user group 'Mitarbeiter Aargau Verkehr' or 'Mitarbeiter Limmat Bus', system will not allow this user to access.

Unless that user got under this Intrant Autor user group.

Hi there,

For example, Category A is to show both user group A and user group B.

You can go to the Category A's permission settings and set only user group A and user group B able to view the blog posts of Category A as shown in the screenshot.

Can you have a try and see how it goes?

Thank you Irwin for your help, but this example is not the problem. Let's say we have Category A only visible for User A and Category B only visible for User B. Now we want to create an article which should show up in both categories. We therefore select both categories in the editor but the article will not be shown, neither in category A nor B.

Hi there,

Can you disable 'Enable Category Privacy' which is at the General settings and see how it goes?

If the issue still persists, can you include your site's access and FTP's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so that we can have a better check of it?

It is not possible to disable the Category Privacy as we don't want any user to see all categories and have access to it. I added all the access credentials in the dashboard. To give you some more intel:

User groups
#1 Mitarbeiter Aargau Verkehr
#2 Mitarbeiter Limmat Bus

Categories

Aargau Verkehr Aktuell (ACL: 1+2)
News aus der Geschäftsleitung (ACL: 1+2)
Personelles (ACL: 1+2)
Organisatorisches (ACL: 1+2)
Anlässe (ACL: 1+2)
Limmat Bus (ACL: 2)
Vergünstigungen (ACL: 1)

So if I now create an article and assign it to the categories "Limmat Bus" and "Vergünstigungen", it will not be displayed, neither for user group 1 nor 2.
