Hi all,

Is their any documentation on your Article Duplication Plugin for EasyBlog?

I was just wondering if you can pick and choose in Easyblog, what article you want duplicated to the joomla core. Does this plugin create a duplicate article in Joomla for every article you create in EasyBlog, is their an option to create or not to create and/or an option to create a duplicate article from EasyBlog to joomla core at a later date after an EasyBlog blog/article is created.

P.S. Here is my problem in a nutshell, I would like a way to save my blogs I created in EasyBlog to my joomla core, if for example, I have to downsize my website and uninstall for some reason EasyBlog. If I put a lot of work in creating a blog in EasyBlog and have no way to save it to Joomla core (when the article is created or after when an article has been sitting around for awhile), then I am thinking why even create a blog in EasyBlog. I am willing to give EasyBlog a try, but the compatibility between Joomla core and EasyBlog leaves little to be desired. Basically, I don't work to loose my "work hours" in created a blog in EasyBlog, if I cannot eventually save it (or have an option to save it) in joomla core.

Also, I have limited amount of hosting server space, so if I have duplicate articles both in joomla core and EasyBlog (either by importing blogs from Joomla core to EasyBlog or using the Article Duplicate Plugin to migrate blogs from EasyBlog to joomla core), I will be using up this server space, which to me is a waste of hosting server space.

These are the issues I having with this EasyBlog application as I am trying to figure out the features of this app.

Hello Rick,

I am not entirely sure why would you want to duplicate the posts into Joomla articles. The linkage would actually be messed up considering that EasyBlog works differently than Joomla articles. If you want to use EasyBlog for composing, you should just create a menu which links to the blog layout.

Am I missing anything here?

Mark,

I understand your point, just worried about losing the data if I have to discontinue using Easyblog, since Easyblog works differently then core joomla, creating a copy of a blog in Easyblog would not translate/trasfer well in core joomla. Just a lot of features in EasyBlog that I have to look through and have to actually use it to see if is feasible to have for my particular website. No worries.

I also like to use articles that I use in a blog situation as a link to menu item that I create in a particular menu. For example, if I create a blog concerning "scholarships" that my organization is offering in a blog. I would like to also create a menu item called "Scholarships" and make a link to the blog called "scholarships", therefore I could access it as going through my blog articles or going through my "Scholarships" menu item on my organization's website.

Hello Rick,

Ah, I see but unfortunately right now you can't actually configure the plugin to only duplicate on specific categories at this point of time
