I tested ES 1.1 RC1 which is working good for the most part. I came upon a pretty big issue which is that the article application displays X amount of articles and displays the entire post! This is bad for me for two big reasons. One, it loads very slow as a result. Two, the display is not user friendly. Here is a link to my test site (my profile with article app) which you will very quickly discover what I mean:
http://www.alpineascent.com/test/user/62-josh/57-article

So what I'm proposing is either an option to display the Title only or a method to limit the number of characters. The reason it isn't displaying nicely is because my articles have lots of text and pictures. The reason for lots of text and pictures is because some of the mountains I climb require a lot of details. My proposal is not to remove the ability to show all text, but to have an additional one that allows the admin to have either title only or limit the characters/html mark up.

If there is a concern with it looking to plain without the text, other options could be added to the columns like publish date and a link to edit it. I attached a screen shot to give some inspiration on this. (yes, it is using a Joomla component)

I suppose I could. One of the new features of ES 1.1 is "Allow admin to configure content lengths when display blog post stream". This method is applied to easyblog. Why not Articles? It's not only a very useful feature but is consistent with the easyblog app.

Thank you Mark! This request means a lot to me. Probably my most important request for EasySocial. While the visually unpleasing part is a factor, the performance issue is the biggest reason I wanted this resolved. I know the problem wasn't Easy Social's, Joomla's, my host, my computer, or my connections fault. It was the huge mass of loaded content that was being requested.

I know I make a lot of requests, but as a think tank (not as a job, but as a website maker) I want to make sure things are flowing as well as possible.
