Hi,
I've discovered how to make several changes in the layout section under settings in the backend of the easyblog component, but I haven't seen any options that allow changes to the number of columns displayed on the front page. I would like to have the blog posts listed in two columns with each post having the cover picture on top and an excerpt of the text below. See the attachment.

1) is there an existing easyblog configuration setting that would allow a two column display of blog posts?

2) If I leave the existing one column display can I have the front cover image display automatically match the height of the text display? Right now the the image is so much bigger than the text area, that the text runs only about halfway down the size of the image. See attachment for clarification.
Hi Peter,

1) You may try out EasyBlog's nickel theme(https://take.ms/WQdVW). The number of columns can also be configured(https://take.ms/1MBmj).

2) Unfortunately it is not possible to auto match the image and text height. You can control or fix the height of all post cover on the listing, or set a standard text length for all posts, but their height will not match each other.

Even if you manage to match their height on one device, it may not match on other device/screen size due to differing widths of different devices.

Thanks. Clear on not possible to match image and text height for one column side-by-side layout. Sounds like a future feature improvement. :-)

Your screenshot for changing column number does not match what I see. Check attached. I also changed the number to 3 and it doesn't seem to affect the display on the front end.

More importantly, is there somewhere I can see what each theme option is supposed to look like, or am I forced to do trial and error?

Thanks for replying.

Hi Peter,
Your screenshot for changing column number does not match what I see.
From your screenshot, it appears that you are looking at the Single Author tab. The setting which I was referring to is actually located at the Frontpage Listing tab.

Settings>Views>Frontpage Listing>Total column for Nickel theme

Try modifying that and see how it goes. If it's still not working, provide us the site access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can check.
More importantly, is there somewhere I can see what each theme option is supposed to look like, or am I forced to do trial and error?
For the settings, yes you have to do trial and error.

In order to see how they will affect your page, you have to save the setting then refresh the page at the front end.
