Hello,
I have several Easyblog archive modules installed on one website.
Each module contains blogs from two categories. The category of the "live" blogs of an author and the category of the archived blogs of that same author.
Clicking from the archive module to a blog that is in the "live" category is working smoothly. But clicking on a blog that is located in the "archive category" results in a page with the layout of a different blogger. What is it that I'm doing wrong?
For instance:
http://lotjeenco.nl/blogs/silvie
At the right hand side at the bottom is the archive module ("archief")
2014 > maart > nieuwbegrip: this one is alright.
2014 > januari > eigen feestje: this one opens in the layout of a different category.
Same goes for all other blog categories.
I hope you can help!

Best,
Ineke
Hello,

I am really sorry but I am actually a little lost here. How can I reproduce the errors on your end? When I clicked on archief > maart and januari, they show up the respective blog post on that month. Am I missing anything here?

Hi Mark,
I'm sorry for not being clear.
lotjeenco.nl/blogs/silvie
and in the archief module: 2014 > januari > eigen feestje
This should appear in the orange layout with the cowboy hat. But the layout changes into that of another category.
Something is going wrong, but I cannot find what.

In the meantime a new problem popped up: all the facebook likes of the blog-items have disappeared.
Help?

Hello Ineke,

Just to reconfirm, are you referring to the link highlighted here, http://screencast.com/t/mj9X1yXRy5z ? If that is the case, that archive module does not actually link to a category layout. It actually links to the archive view which displays posts by months.

Yes almost.
When you click on "januari".
You also get a list.
So far so good.
But when you actually click on a blog in that list, e.g. the top one "geen prik" (highlighted in de second screenshot) then the blog appears in the wrong layout (see third screenshot).

This only happens to the older blogs, that are moved to a different category, in order to limit the number of pages in each category. So, besides each category there also is an archive category with the older blogs of that particula category. And these are the ones that lead to problems.
The archive module is set up to show blogs from two categories, but only the newer ones get the correct lay-out.

The class that defines the different layouts is added in the page class of the menu-item. So, should I link the archive-categories to menu items in a hidden menu with the same page classes? They are not linked to any menu-item at the moment.

Hello Ineke,

I've checked your site and seems like those blogs are not in the same category. As you can see here: http://screencast.com/t/SrPaBUASz . I've tried to change the category and the layout change to the same layout as the other post. Hope this helps.

Hi Nik,
Thank you for checking.
The reason for the category "archief silvie" is limiting the number of blogs that are visible in the start page of the category. Some write almost every day, so that would give a huge page-listing at the bottom. I want to avoid that.
Could you see any solution to this without putting alle te blogs into the same category?
Would it help to link the "archief silvie" category to a menu-item in a hidden menu, and attach te same page class to that menu-item?

And something different: yesterday all the facebook likes were gone. It seems the urls changed. The url of an individual blog now contains a date, like 2014/03/15/
Do you know what caused this? And would there be a way to get te likes back?
Best

Hello Ineke,

Your suggestion might work and thats the only way I can think right now. As for the different URL (category and date), this is because you have choose this option: http://screencast.com/t/avH01HY9eQtQ in Backend>Easyblog>Settings>SEO. Hope this helps.

Hi Nik,
The workaround through the hidden menu-items works smoothly

About the facebook likes, I don't understand how this setting was changed. If I change it back, will the old facebook likes return?
(I understand we're going to lose the ones that were made after the change.)
