The "Apps" page is great and provides us with an extension directory specific to the StackIdeas products. We problem I face is understanding what changes have been made between versions. As we all know changes come in many shapes and forms: New Features, Enhancements, Changes, Fixes, Performance

It would be great to see a "Change log" tab for each app where the developer can provide detailed change log information regarding their products so we know whats going on.

Thanks,
James
Good idea James! I will try to get this up and running with the new EasySocial 1.5

By the way, Happy new year!

Thanks Mark, we appreciate the attention to our request.

Hopefully we will see a Blog Post about EasySocial 1.5 soon and an updated Roadmap as the current has it moving to a 2.0 version.

Happy New Year to you and the team as well!

James

Hey James,

Yep, my hands are really full right now juggling with several different extensions but as soon as we have enough proper screen shots, you'll get these blog posts

By the way, what I did notice is people often doesn't know that their apps are outdated / latest. Would it be a nice addition for people like yourself as a site administrator / webmaster?

Thanks Mark.

Yes, it would be a great idea to do one or a couple of things.
1. Integrate the APP Updates with the Joomla Extension Update Notifications in the Joomla! Admin
2. Integrate an email notification when an APP or Extension is our of date (I believe this is planned for Joomla 3.5)

Let me know if you need any additional input or help.

Thanks,
James

Thanks for the input on this James! The problem is our apps doesn't get installed through Joomla's installer so it cannot be integrated with Joomla's Extension Update

I don't think we need to update it using the Joomla! Updater, but instead receive a message as you do with a typical Joomla! Extension. Navigating to the admin area of the extension is not ideal to know there are updates.

Hm, but sadly those actually relies on the "xml" file from plugins / components / modules

I have seen other 3rd party extension developers create their own notification plugin for their apps that resembles the Joomla Extension Update utility. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to make an admin plugin/module that would display on the admin Control Panel page.

Thoughts?

Hm, yeah if we create a module on the Joomla admin page it's possible to list them there too.

Sounds like we have a good direction forward.

I would make sure it includes both, extensions and the apps.

Thanks,
James
