Hi
If I try to use an app that I installed or an app that came with easysocial, then it does nothing.
So if I click on K2 Article app, then it just try’s to load, but nothing happens. If I try to use just the normal user-article, then it shows “James Human doesn't have any article yet.” But I can’t find any way to post an article. The calendar seems ok; the Kunena Forum does the same loading, with nothing happing. I know that you a probably going to ask for FTP access, but can you please just point my in an direction so, can try to fix it myself?

Thanks for understanding
James
Hello James,

That app that you have installed is actually the "Blog" app and it requires EasyBlog and not K2 If you have K2 installed, you want to download the following items:

1. K2 App For EasySocial - http://stackideas.com/apps/item/63-k2-app
- Renders the stream item for streams inserted from the K2 plugin
- Renders a new tab on your profile to display a list of items you created with K2.

2. EasySocial Plugin For K2 - http://stackideas.com/apps/item/57-k2-article
- Displays author's avatar in your K2 article
- Inserts a new stream record when you save a K2 article

The difference? The app is an application made for EasySocial as compared to the plugin which is purely / entirely used for K2.

Hello James,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hi James,

I have checked your site and it seems like your site didn't have K2 component or EasyBlog component. Here is my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/iitpGI3wEOc . Perhaps, I'm missing something here.

Please advise.

That is weird, how do I fix or install it? If you look at the pictures above, you can see that I have installed it. It was weird for me too, because I enabled the plugin, but that was all, I did not find any extra settings.

Hi,

I believe there is misunderstanding here. In order for the plugins to be working, you need to install the components; EasyBlog and K2. And I have checked your site, it seems like you haven't install these two components. Here is the link for EasyBlog component: http://stackideas.com/easyblog . If you have anymore question, please don't hesitate to ask us.

There was.

Can you please tell me, what apps will work with just easysocial? Like the user- article is also not working. Do I need to buy something for that app too?

Hi James,

I have checked your site and it seems like you haven't install content-easysocial plugin in your site. I have helped you install this and I believe this will generate stream in EasySocial. Can you please give this a try.

Thanks.

I'm still little confused. Where did you get the info to install the content-easysocial plugin?

Hi James,

Since you want to use Joomla article, you need to install this content-easysocial plugin. It will generate the EasySocial stream. By the way, I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. Currently we're still updating our documentation so that it will be more user friendly.

Thanks. If you have anymore question, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Hi Mohd

I seem to be completely lost. I created a menu on the navigation bar “write as article”. So if I login from the front, then I can click on the write as article, so now I can write an article.

The problem is that if someone writes something, the article will fall under a category that they don’t want and can’t change.

The second problem is ,if I login from the front as super user, then I can use the article, but if someone only has the normal register permission, then they get an error if they click on “write an article”. What I’m I doing wrong?

I'm lost

Thanks
James

Hi James,

I am sorry for the delayed reply.
It seems like you have missed some settings in Joomla Article. I have helped you fix this. You can configure this here: Content > Article Manager > Options > Permission > Registered User. Here is my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/qvw04OET63 .

About the category, actually you can change the category when creating the Article. Here is my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/5PmUW2Qwa .

Hope this can help.

Just one more thing on the same subject.

"The problem is that if someone writes something, the article will fall under a category that they don’t want and can’t change."

Can you give me more info about the above?

James

Hi,

Oh. As you can see in my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/5PmUW2Qwa, there are 4 tabs displayed . Please click on publishing tab and then you can change the category for the article to be post to. By the way, to create another category, you can simply go to backend > Contents > Category Manager > Create new.

Hope I explained this well.
Thanks.

Hi

You mis understand. Let me explain. If someone just registered and they want to make an article, then they wont be able to create a category of there choice. They can make an article of there choice, but not a category. Is there a way that a user can change the category to what they want, or disable the category so that you only see the article?

Hi James,

I am sorry for the late reply.
I believe only site administrator are able to create or disable the category. There is no way around to tweak this issue.

Hope this help.
