Would you find such an App useful? Please vote and/or comment in the User Voice section.
I envision an Events App building upon Events in 1.3 that would support ES communities as users market, promote, research, and review events by integrating related social media. It would help showcase events either "live" (i.e. scrolling window of activity) and/or be useful as a way to archive events later (i.e. configurable by admin to save any particular social channel content) . It could integrate with the ES stream, ED, etc.
I've written a little more detail in the User Voice area.
For illustration, take a look at the Joomla! World Conference 2013 social media archive implemented with eventifier. Similarly, you could see all social media from a #hashtag at a US College implemented with getpressi. There are also free scripts to get started such as SpectragramJS.
Imagine some instantiation of those capabilities for ES events with appropriate limitations and/or reliance on CDN to be sure it's not unwieldy and otherwise out-of-control
