I have copied the API key from my dashboard and saved it in my Updater.
However I cannot update my EasyBlog due to incorrect API !
Please advise ?
Hello Peter,

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately it seems to me that your file is having troubles being extracted? You can try installing via directory but I can't guarantee that it would work. In the event that it does not please do send in your backend and FTP for us to check it out. Please advice.

Thanks!

Hello Peter,

Upgrading from EasyBlog 3.8.x or older to 3.9.x requires a full uninstall / installation. The reason is because there are some core files which were modified in this release and running the updater would actually break things.

Rest assured that your data would not get erased when you perform an uninstall. Theme files and other core files would however get erased, so if you have made any modifications, it's best to make a backup of the modifications first.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply.
I have now uninstalled 3.8 via Extensions Manager (though not the single plugin found when searching for EasyBlog).
Have also downloaded the 3.9.15065 and tried to Upload and Install (twice).
Nothing happened!
Will try again tomorrow and see if anything changes - that I manage to Upload and Install.
In meanwhile do you have any comments?
Are there any 'special requirements' for the 3.9.15065 that were not required for 3.8.x? PHP number for example?

Hello Peter,

Hm, the only requirement is the php's upload_max_filesize which should be at least 8MB. If you are still stuck, please provide us with the back end and FTP access to the site so that I can check on this.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your suggestion! I have been down this road before and supply you the following.

At present I have a php.ini file in public_html which reads as :
memory_limit = 128M;
max_execution_time = 120;
upload_max_filesize = 6M;
post_max_size = 6M;

Are you suggesting I change to :
memory_limit = 128M;
max_execution_time = 120;
upload_max_filesize = 8M;
post_max_size = 8M;

or maybe

memory_limit = 128M;
max_execution_time = 120;
upload_max_filesize = 10M;
post_max_size = 10M;

Is this what I should do ??

Have also come across
"where post_max_size should be bigger than upload_max_size"
but have no idea what this means !!!
Or how I should react !!!

Thanks again.

Hi,
Have changed php.ini to the following :

memory_limit = 128M;
max_execution_time = 120;
upload_max_filesize = 10M;
post_max_size = 12M;

Still nothing happens and Extension Manger returns to 'No file selected'.

I am trying to upload and Install EasyBlog - 3.9.15065.zip. Is this the correct version ?

Instead of giving you access to my FTP program is there anything else that I can do ??

Hi Adelene,
Have only today managed to get round to uploading EasyBlog.
Tried a couple of times via the 'normal' route.
Ended up using 'Install from Directory'.
Worked amazingly well !
Now just need to understand the options in EasyBlog ...
Thanks for your help and advise.
