When trying ti run EasyBlog updater I receive the following error

Error Please enter the correct API key. You may generate it from http://stackideas.com/account/my-account.html ...

I have entered the correct API for my account.
Hello John,

Upgrading from EasyBlog 3.8.x or older to 3.9.x requires a full uninstall / installation. The reason is because there are some core files which were modified in this release and running the updater would actually break things.

Rest assured that your data would not get erased when you perform an uninstall. Theme files and other core files would however get erased, so if you have made any modifications, it's best to make a backup of the modifications first.

Hello Mark,

I upgraded as you mentioned. Upgrade seemed successful but now have the following issue when I go to edit an existing log entry. Please see atached screenshot.

What do you suggest to resolve the issue.

Thanks,
John.

Hello,

Thanks for your support.

I have the issue resolved and it was not related to upgrading EasyBlog

I have detailed what caused the issue as it maybe of use to you should someone else report the same occurring to them.

I had the attachments extension installed which is available on joomla extensions directory. When I uninstalled it the following occurred (including the editor not working in easyblog)
1: Frontend of site index.php loaded as blank page.
2: Could not access Global administration
3: Could not edit articles in joomla administration (blank page)

SOLUTION
The attachments extension does not uninstall properly. Numerous plugins remain related to the editor in the administration. They must be uninstalled manually in the extensions manager.

Once uninstalled the site loaded again, Global administration was accessible, articles editor worked and most importantly the editor in Easyblog worked.

Thanks,
Have a good day.
John O Connor.
