We are actually adding some fixes on 5.0.36 that would make it compatible with AMP. Though, I am really pretty skeptical about this.

Almost 2 - 3 years back, Google introduced authorship which allows author's picture to appear on search results but after a couple of months, they decided to scrap that altogether. I hope they are really doing something about this
