Hi there,

Let me start by saying: "hello, I am a newbie!". I know that EasySocial allows for Remote Storage through Amazon S3, which I understand is great. I am planning to start a social network and was wondering would that be the best way for me to go? I was of course checking out hosting packages and getting our own servers, but it does seem very expensive all right. I am a bit confused as even within Amazon S3 you have:

- Amazon CloudFront
- Amazon Glacier
- Amazon Reduced Redundancy Storage

Which one do you guys think will be spottable for a social network that is (hopefully) going to be very active so lots of files will be have to be accessed fast and furious?!
Hello David,

The Amazon S3 service is actually different then the 3 above. It's actually for storing files on an offshore server. You could learn more about this at http://aws.amazon.com/s3/

Thanks Mark,

Does that mean that EasySocial only supports Amazon S3? I am not complaining as I don't even know what they are. I just want to know which one I need to go for.

Thanks again

Yes, that's correct In the future when PHP 5.2 support is dropped, we'll add Rackspace Cloud files support as well
