Hi,
I would prefer to create a normal menu for each category vs. having the categories be a link in the blog toolbar. But the toolbar seems to be the only way to allow a blogger to access the menu for new posts, drafts etc.

1) If I disable the toolbar is there another way to give a blogger access to this one dropdown under "more settings"?

Could I, for example, have a link that would lead to these more settings items as a sub-menu of the logged in user main menu? Hopefully, this will be clear from the attached image.

2) Also, is there a way to change the colour of the star ratings that go with each post? Right now they are yellow and I'd like to change them to red.

Thanks for your help.
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Yes, you can create each of the menu item for this toolbar dropdown menu, you can check my attached screenshot below.

2) Also, is there a way to change the colour of the star ratings that go with each post? Right now they are yellow and I'd like to change them to red.

You can apply this following custom css from your site backend > Easyblog > themes > custom css

body #eb .eb-rating-form .fa.fa-star,
body #eb .eb-rating-form .fa.fa-star-half-o,
body #eb .eb-rating-form .fa.fa-star-o {
color: #FF0000 !important;
}

Thanks much. That was helpful. I have a three follow up questions:

1. Is there a module that would give the same menu items as the toolbar, or a module for the toolbar? If so I could place that on the blogging pages as an alternative.

2. Can you say what group I should assign bloggers to so they can access these menu items or module (if one exists)? I won't have very many people who will have access rights to blogging.

3. Can you confirm that if I did use the toolbar that it would only be visible to those who I have given blogger status, (those using team blogs etc.?)

Thanks
Peter

EasyBlog Toolbar Module is going to be available in EasyBlog 5.3.

It is impossible to do that. As long as the users do not have the 'Allowed To Write New Post' right, they are not bloggers. http://take.ms/bllod

Thanks for replying Irwin.

1. Cool. When is 5.3 coming out? Is there a list of upcoming changes in that version I can already look at?
2.Can you clarify exactly how I give a person blogging status on my site? Seems odd that I would not give them some sort of editing rights on the site, but it seems you are saying that any registered user on the site can be given the status of allowed to post. You can just point me to the documentation section.
3. If my understanding in 2 above is correct, everyone will see the toolbar if I enable it, but I guess the dropdown menu won't be visible to them, unless I've assigned them as "allowed to post"?
4. Where in the world are you guys?

Thanks for responding.

There's no ETA for this yet.

Like I mentioned above, As long as the users do not have the 'Allowed To Write New Post' right, they are not bloggers. http://take.ms/bllod

If I still understand your question wrongly, can you explain more on what do you mean 'give a person blogging status' on your site?

3. If my understanding in 2 above is correct, everyone will see the toolbar if I enable it, but I guess the dropdown menu won't be visible to them, unless I've assigned them as "allowed to post"?

Everyone will be able to see the toolbar if you enable the toolbar same goes to its dropdown menu. If you didn't assign them the 'Allowed To Write New Post' right, the compose button will not be displayed on the toolbar only.

4. Where in the world are you guys?
