Hi, Seems a bit silly but I'm kinda stuck on ACL. How do allow posting to EasyBlog without having to login? I want to give non-registered site members (public) access to posting blogs.

Also, would like to include text headings for toolbar items, Possible or would that require custom coding?

Regards.
Hey Sam,

Hi, Seems a bit silly but I'm kinda stuck on ACL. How do allow posting to EasyBlog without having to login? I want to give non-registered site members (public) access to posting blogs.

By default, Easyblog do not allow public user to publish blog post on the site.
What do you think if the register user submit a blog post on your site, then this blog post will under moderation?
Then your site moderator will check this blog post, if everything okay then only approve it and publish on the site.

Also, would like to include text headings for toolbar items, Possible or would that require custom coding?

Do you mean you would like to remove the toolbar header? screenshot : http://take.ms/VGI0S
If yes, you can disable this from backend > Easyblog > setting > layout > toolbar > Enable Headers Above Toolbar - NO

Hi Arlex,

I understand. Site membership is an essential part of EasyBlog to enable moderation. I however prefer site users to flag unsuitable posts (moderate) after it has been published.

Anyway, regarding the toolbar, I was refering to the main toolbar housing the 'Start creating you new post', 'Quickly submit a new post' etc. Whilst the tooltip makes it easy for users to identify the purpose of the icons in desktop mode, in mobile mode you wont know what feature the icon is for unless you click on them to find out.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is public holiday for us here.

Actually that was difficult to show tooltip on the mobile automatically unless that user use his finger to hover that icon, if not it will not show the tooltip.

What i can think of is move these 2 icons into that left menu icon, so user can directly see what is that icon for.

You can watch my video here which part i referring. : http://take.ms/NnvAQ

Hi Arlex,

That will be a great solution. Yes I will like to move those two icons into the menu. Can you also change the menu icon to text (MENU)? Lastly, can you disable the need to register/login to post? Willing to pay for custom work.

Thanks.

Hey Sam,

I have already added a template override under /templates/theme2026/html/com_easyblog/toolbar/default.php and these buttons would now appear on the popup navigation, http://take.ms/aPVoV

By the way, it's not possible currently to allow guests to post blog posts but if you would want us to customize this for you, you may reach us at https://crm.stackideas.com/ to request for a quote.

Hi Mark,

Whilst the override works fine in mobile, unfortunately in desktop mode, the icons are not available anymore. Can it be included in the menu that gets shown under the toolbar (please see attached screenshot). Also is it possible to get those 2 items ('New Blog Post' and 'Quick Post') to come first after the 'Home' item.

Thanks,
Sam
