Is this the new place for feature requests.. If not please move to where this should be. I was sent to this forums/ask link but not sure what 'Category' I should pick.

In EasySocial can we please have it so that an uploaded file (eg Events Story Post) can be downloaded WITHOUT forcing login. My users are going nuts about having to create an account just to get to a file... its making some complain, others create an account, get the file, then delete their account, others create their account but only for the file and so I have registered users who aren't really participating in the community.

Not sure if it's a feature request or really a fix. If there's a hack possible I'd love to apply it. Hope you can consider!
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

By default, if that is open event, mean everyone also can download the file from this event page.

May i know which event upload file is not downloadable? Perhaps you can check my attached screenshot below and see is it you referring someone upload the file through the story form?

Hi Arlex,

Your screenshot is EasyBlog so not sure if you maybe attached the wrong image there.

An example link of a file uploaded from the Event Owner via the Event Story form on my site is here:

/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=events&layout=preview&fileid=514&tmpl=component

Yes, I attached the wrong image file, I've checked the code, it seems like I explained wrongly at above, by default it required only registered user can download the file, perhaps I can help you change this thread category to "Easysocial - feature request" so we will see if a lot of user also request this , we wiill definitely consider this.

For now, you can remove this line of code in order to allow guest user to download the file in this following file
JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/views/events/view.html.php

Check my attached screenshot as well.

Thanks Arlex... Really appreciate the code tweak to achieve this before it hopefully gets accepted as something worth doing from the feature requests!
