Is it possible to make it all public stream for ES?

For example:
-using ES stream for public city announcement without the need for visitor to login to read more
-guests can comment without registration but moderators select quality post or comment to approve
Hello Peter,

It is possible provided that user does not change their privacy to not allow public viewing. You can reset the privacy for stream items at the back end of EasySocial

Hi Mark

I've been playing around with this but wasn't able to find the option to allow for guest (no registration needed) to comment. Sorry I think my brain is fried.

Hello Peter,

Ah, "write" access within EasySocial is not allowed for guests and this also includes commenting. We can't actually allow guests to submit comments because the entire notifications system would be a little messed up. Imagine a guest posting a comment on your stream and the notification would then appear as "Guest submitted a comment on your xxx item".

Hi Mark

Yeah, that would be annoying.

My original thought was using the ES stream for local town news/announcements in the same way how WP allows for guest comments. Different use case for ES.

Yeah, it makes sense if the comment is just a system commenting system but when it starts to integrate with other tools like the notifications, it becomes a little more difficult
