Since yesterday morning, all of my posts -- be they new threads or replies to existing posts -- are being blocked as spam. There does not even have to be a link inside. You can simply type the word "test" or "hi," hit the reply button, and the message "Sorry, but the system detected your content as spam" will appear. This only seems to be happening to me (as the super-administrator). If I turn off the anti-spam control, then the board gets flooded with spam -- at least two per minute -- so that isn't an option. What can be done to correct this problem? My personal login info is below.

It looks like you have enabled Akismet in EasyDiscuss. I can't really give you an exact answer as to why your contents are being marked as spam but when you enable Akismet, EasyDiscuss sends your IP address, content that you are trying to post, your name and e-mail to Akismet so that it verifies your content. If Akismet tells us that it's a spam, we only display the message as it is

Perhaps it has something to do with your IP Address? I am not too sure though.

You are pointing the finger of blame at Akismet and Akismet says it must be your software. I'm using the same computer I have used since I started using your software 8 months ago. There has been no IP change that I know of. This IP has worked for weeks and months before, it seems strange that all of a sudden, any post made by the admin is marked as spam and disallowed. Shouldn't all posts by admins be instantly allowed?

Also, I can post when not logged in. It's only when I log in as the Admin that I get blocked, which leads me to believe this isn't an IP address issue, but something with EasyDiscuss' settings.

Hello Lawrence,

The workflow for Akismet is pretty simple. We send the data (name,email,website,contents) to Akismet and Akismet tells us that it's a spam. As simple as that I cannot troubleshoot this because I don't have access to Akismet's source.

I have tried to create another test user and also posted as larz without any issues, http://screencast.com/t/lexxqQIh

Thanks Mark. I had an Akismet tech looking into it, too. It looks either something you did or something they did has fixed the issue.

Hey Mark,

My apologies for jumping on this thread but was there ever a solution to this? When I first installed EasyDiscuss I was able to post ten questions, with no problem. Askimet enabled. But now today I cannot post any questions as I am getting the spam message and I cannot save or turn off askimet since I am getting a white screen.

Could you help?
