In my alerts I have "User joins the group" enabled.

I added a user, which is associated with one of my other email addresses by adding the member to the group in the backend. When I add this user, the email associated with the user does not receive any notification, just the admin email in the CMS. Is this how it is supposed to function? Or does the user only receive the email if they add themselves in the front end?
Hi there,

Currently, we dont sent emails if you add them on the backend and yes you are right, we only send emails if and only they join them on the frontend only.

Perhaps. it would best if you could submit your feature request regarding this simply by creating a new ticket on the forums, and set it to "Feature Request" so everyone else on the site could vote for it as well. The team will usually prioritise features that are in popular demand during the development process of the next major release.

Thanks for your understanding.

Thank you. This is how I would like it to function. I just wanted to confirm, as I will be adding several members to a group in the backend and I don't want them to receive an email.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

As long as this "User joins the group" alert (screenshot : http://take.ms/P3m0Y) enabled for the system and email, the group member will receive an email and system notification someone joined in the group (it will be the same when you add them from backend or they join on frontend manually.)
