It is a known issue and you can paste the attached blocks.php and document.php at JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/blocks/blocks.php and JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/document/document.php respectively for the backward compatibility fix. This will be addressed in the next version of EasyBlog which is going to release soon.

when the article is saved they are removed completely from the front end as well.

For this, you will need to re-add it back and update it. I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Ive copied the .php files and now when I edit articles that were created using easy blog 5.0.2 the alert blocks are still there.
