Hi, I already install latest ES and migrate JS data using ES Migrator. Everything working fine.
The only weird thing is ES Ajax search (Es toolbar) result return everything related to the keyword such as picture/album but not about existing Group and Profile (migrate from old JS database) . I try to key in exact Group or Profile name without any luck. So far i can only search for Profile and Group using Advance search.

Only today i find that ES Ajax search result return only new registered user. That mean all old user and group migrate from JS database not listed accept the fresh new registered user or new created group.

Pls help
Hello Razak,

I have tried to re-index those items through Smart Search and it does seem to have quite a number of users indexed. Can you please try again? If it still doesn't load up older users, can you provide us with some of the user accounts that you can't search for here?

Hey guys,

Can you please check if your plugin Finder - EasySocial groups is enabled on the site? This plugin is responsible to respond to Joomla's Smart Search when you index the items on Smart Search.

Hello Razak,

Hm, that's strange. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hello Mark,
So far the ajax search working like it suppose to. Thanks a lot Mark.
Can you pls teach me how to re-index items through Smart Search. Someday this will come in handy.

I did do some search in your documentation and found this page:
http://docs.stackideas.com/administrators/search_indexer/search_indexer

Search Indexer
EasySocial comes with a built-in universal search which allows you to search just about anything within EasySocial. You can manage the search results by viewing it from the back end of EasySocial's Indexer section.

Is this article refering to the same Indexer? I can't find it anywhere in back end of EasySocial's. Pls guide me.

Tq

Hello Razak,

It's really simple actually and you don't have to keep doing it because the idea is that it is automatically done by Joomla but I am just guessing that the first initialization of the Smart Search was not including the users on JomSocial probably because you were earlier running on JomSocial and JomSocial did not have the smart search plugin like we do.

Ah, that documentation is old. In older versions of EasySocial, (Prior to 1.2), we built our own search indexer but we find that it's too cumbersome / troublesome to maintain so many different plugins for different extensions. Hence, in 1.2, we took a different approach (smarter one) that is to utilize what Joomla already offers with their Smart Search extension. The auto suggest in EasySocial is generated via Joomla's Smart Search extension and it will suggest you results from extensions that have a smart search plugin.

You can purge / re-index items by accessing the Smart Search at the back end of your Joomla site.
