Age

If a user makes his year of birth public, it is still only visible to this user.

In other words, the age is displayed in the profile only for the user and not for friends, public, etc....

On the subject, something about the birthday module: It would be good if you could see how old the person becomes.
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holiday for us here.

Based on what i tested, it did show my friend upcoming birthday on the module even my friend profile page as well, you can check my screenshot here : http://take.ms/4XCeU

But this upcoming birthday module will not appear in public because this module only show your friend birthday only.

If I misunderstand what your current question, perhaps you can elaborate more details regarding this.

I have noticed that "BIRTH YEAR PRIVACY" is not saved when I try to change it to public...

Ah, okay, I misspoke.

1. age by which I mean in position es-sidebar in profile in activities:

Joined 3 weeks ago
0 Achievement
168 Points
*** Age is not displayed for followers, guests, etc.
Female

2. With the birthday module that was just a suggestion. Not only to show the date but also the age. Like this:

3rd Feb. 1990 or 3rd Feb. (29 years)

I wish you a happy public holiday

After resetting the privacy settings, everything works.

I guess that's where the error was. Problem solved.

Okay, there's still a problem.

I have reset the global privacy settings. Then every user could change his privacy for birth year again.

But once one user changed this setting, other users couldn't.

The privacy for the year of birth is again not saved.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Do you mean it should show something like this if the user allow public user to view his birth of year and age? http://take.ms/3ZY8AL

If yes, currently that is not possible, but I will log into issue tracker.

I describe it now using the official demo page of ES.

I log in as "Darius Scott", go in the profile to "About" and change "Birth year privacy" from "only me" to "public"... That still works.

Then I log in as "Nadia Cruz" and try to change "Birth year privacy" from "only me" to "public". But it is no longer saved.

As soon as one person changes "Birth year privacy", others can no longer change this.

And I tried that on the official demo page of ES. Anyone can try these steps. I hope it was understandable. If not, I'll make a video later.

addendum...

Here is the video:

And if you now reset the privacy in the settings (backend), it will work again until you repeat the steps described above. This is a difficult error.

Hi Chris,

Seems like I am able to replicate the issue locally. I will logged this issue internally so that our developer will be able to check on the issue further.
