Hi

I have got a very basic question, bear with me...

What is the difference in terms of the process between when I simply renew my easysocial subscription after it was expired (no version upgrade) and when I want to upgrade the version to the latest during my subscription period?

It look like I have to download launcher and install via Joomla's Extension Manager for both occasions.
Is it correct? Am I misunderstanding the process?

The reasons that I asked is that I have few customisation added to some easysocial core files and I recently renewed my subscription.. I want to know what is the next step..
If I still have to install launcher via Joomla's Extension Manager, I would imagine that all my customisation will be overridden..?

Thanks
Hey there,

Yes, that is correct. Regardless of the time you renew your subscription, the upgrade process is still the same You can download the launcher and install it via Extensions Manager.

It depends on what you have customized and I normally would advise users to take a backup of their customizations to avoid it being overwritten

Cheers!

Thank you for the info.

One thing that I noticed in Easysocial backend is that I am not able to edit user profile custom fields.
Is it because I haven't install launcher yet since subscription has been expired?
I am happy to send you my admin log-in account via private message if necessary.
( We are planning to do after all the customisation has been done in couple weeks time )

Hey there,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply, I believe that issue is not related what you described at above.

Perhaps you can include your Joomla backend and FTP details into your user dashboard page http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site , your site details only our moderator can view it.

Hi

Thank you, I have included the details in the dashboard as suggested.
This affects any custom fields editing. ( groups, events, profile types etc ), which possibly caused by custom code done by freelance developer that I hired.
- When I click edit button for any custom fields, it doesn't prompt anything..
So far, he said that he doesn't know where to look.. So much appreciate if you could shed a light on anything like file he needs to look into..

Many thanks

H

Hey there,

There is an error on the profile type page and it certainly has something to do with your custom works done by our freelance developer. Unfortunately, our support plan does not cover such incidents and there is 2 ways for you to resolve this issue:

1. Contact the original author who performed these hacks.

2. We can install EasySocial 1.4.8 on your site and ensure that the files are in sync and EasySocial would work correctly.

Thank you for your feedback.
No need to install anything. I have contacted my developer.
