I would consider adding an option for Advertisements that would give the admin the ability to choose if the link should open in a new tab, or the same tab, because if someone wants to advertise their Profile, Group, Page, or Event on your site, you would likely want it to open in the same tab.

By default Advertisements all open in a new Tab.
