Advanced Search Functionality

Hi there,

I'm looking forward to the next release. I am a bit confused. I saw on the forums that the Advanced Search Functionality to be released in 1.2 will not search for groups, photos, albums and so. It will only focus on groups. I am sorry if I missed something, but was is the difference between that and the current search capabilities in EasySocial?
Yep, let's try to roll out 1.2 first and we'll look into this in the future. It's almost the same architecture so I guess it shouldn't be that difficult at all

Hello David,

The advanced search in 1.2 allows you to search users by specific custom fields

Thanks Mark for your reply. Are you guys planning for the search to actually search through groups at some stage? I think it will be a good idea for you to consider it as once you introduce groups, you are faced with the challenge in how would users find them? Search might be a wonderful way to do so.

Do you have any plans to do so and if so when?

I'm with you David that being able to search for groups is a great option. But as Mark said that the advanced search needs to come out first and then we can worry about specifics. I've got an idea that is waiting for after ES 1.2 in terms of searching.
