We are trying to add a piece of code (embedded) to a blog post, but it is not working. We tried using the 'code block' as well as the 'html block' but no luck...

The embedded code is to add a button to buy from an affiliate site. See Site Details for more info.

See included link for a correct working one as did in EB3.9.
Hey Andrew,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

May i know how you insert this JSON code in Easyblog 3.9? So I can test in our locally and see how it goes?

Because I believe that required a plugin to trigger this, if not, this JSON code will not generate proper content.

The code is provided by the seller of whom we are a registered affiliate... The code is included in the original post's site details.

I added it simply in EB3.9 by using JCE and Sourcerer Plugin from NoNumber. It is simple code which you add to the blog post and it displays the details as per the link I provided you. Nothing strange or complex about it... but it won't work in EB5 when I use your 'html block'

thanks...

hey Andrew,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

Thanks for took your time to explained again, If you change to JCE editor is it work for you?

I believe that Easyblog build-in composer HTML block do not know render this JSON code provided by seller which Sourcerer plugin is not compatible with Easyblog new build-in composer.

Arlex...

We can not change back to JCE Editor for Blogs as we now have a number of Bloggers and they have been trained on the new EB5 Composer.

Sourcerer Plugin is a No-Number plugin to easily insert some code into your joomla article, etc... See: https://www.nonumber.nl/extensions/sourcerer

Sourcerer enables you to place PHP and any kind of HTML style code (including CSS and JavaScript) right into your content! Not only in your articles, but also in sections, categories, modules, components, META tags, etc.

You can now just place your original codes right into your WYSIWYG editor.
from NoNumber

This is how it is added with Sourcerer - see Site Details for code...

I have also tried adding the code to the 'HTML Block' in EB5, but it does not work at all..

We only need to be able to insert this code from our products provider (bol.com) into our blog posts to display the buy option as per sample link.

This is really important for our site.

I was not aware that this code was non-standard and that hard to render, there has to be a fix to this surely...

Does the new EasyBlog 5 'HTML Block' strip any code from the inserted code, or what is causing it not to accept the code when entered into the field when adding the 'html block'?

thanks,

Andrew

If Sourcerer is replacing text on the page, you should place this on a normal text block. There is no other work around for this unfortunately because HTML block accepts html codes and not codes like this.

Mark...

I tried using the Sourcerer by adding the code in the Text Block... but it did not work... I really need to be able to add these affiliate code snippets in our blogs.

Would really appreciate your help with this. We really do not want to change our bloggers to yet another editor again, we are really happy with Composer and although very different to the norm it is quite nice. We just need to ba able to add our affiliate code (product links) to the blog posts...

Thanks...

Hey Andrew,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

May i know do you have any sample output for this JSON string?

Because I tried to change to JCE editor in your site and insert that JSON string in JCE editor, but it seems like didn't work.

Perhaps you can consult with their developer regarding this? Because we are not really sure how that plugin task.

Arlex....

Please remove ALL test posts from our Stream. I am unable to do it as it will not allow me to delate them... Then, please do not do these types of test posts on our Stream (as asked before). You can test in EB without posting to stream - See attached screenshot...

Then, I originally added the link to the sample output as was done previously in EB3.9 - see link URL in this post. Also see attached screenshot of the post.

The Sorcerer Plugin is for Joomla so that you can easily add code in article or via editors (such as JCE)...

Thanks,

Andrew

Yes! Thanks... That caused us a major issue....

Anyway, back to this issue at hand:

Then, I originally added the link to the sample output as was done previously in EB3.9 - see link URL in this post. Also see attached screenshot of the post.
