How can you add alt tags to the post image and to body images in EasyBlog 5?
Hey Tony,

Unfortunately it is not possible to automate this. If you are using the WYSIWYG editor, you will need to click on the image button in the editor to set it's attributes.

Why would the new composer be designed with some seo features but not alt tags for images? The seo measuring tools we use flag the post we have because the images do not have alt tags. Is this something that is being added in future updates?

If we switch back to using the joints editor (jce), will we loose the ability to add the blocks in eb 5 such as the gallery?

Hi Tony,

Currently we do not have any plan to add this in the future release of easyblog. Unfortunately if you are switching to legacy editor, you will lose the ability to add blocks in easyblog 5.

No plans? How can all SEO elements not be important in blogging? Now after selling my clients on going with Joomla/Easyblog instead of Wordpress, I have to tell them that was a bad idea as SEO is important to them and they are SEO savy and know the importance of alt tags.

A lot of wasted time and wasted money. Surely if your serious about SEO you will plan to include a way to add alt tags to an image.

Please read this article on the importance of alt tags and SEO and please reconsider. http://www.searchenginejournal.com/image-alt-text-vs-image-title-whats-the-difference/

Another article about the importance of alt tags on images in blogs... http://peppercorncreative.com/alt-tags-image-titles-file-names/

Priority #1: Alt Tags

Out of everything, the single most important thing you need to worry about with your images is the Alt Tag (Alternative Tag). Alt Tags are what the browser will display if the actual photo can’t load or if for some reason the reader has images turned off on their browser. Think of it like the hidden title behind the actual picture. So, it only makes sense that as Google crawls down your page, it looks at the Alt Tag to determine what the picture is actually about so it can index the image correctly in search results. In addition, the Alt Tag is the first place Pinterest looks for the pin description. It then looks for the Image Title Tag (#3 below) and lastly, the page title if it can’t find anything else.

If you’re using WordPress, you can edit the Alt Tag when you upload a file.

If you’re using Blogger, you can edit the Image Properties using this guide. If you’re on another blogging platform, you should have similar functionality somewhere in there! It doesn’t matter where it happens, as long as it gets done.

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your kind concern. I already add this request into our codebase tracker so our developers can start to work on this and hopefully it will be added in the next release of easyblog.
